On Friday, February 22, we will feature Minister Takehiro Shimada, the Minister of Communications at the Japanese embassy in Washington, DC. Minister Shimada works in the areas of international peace cooperation, Chinese and Mongolian Affairs, and Japanese foreign policy. He will be speaking on international diplomacy, US-Japan relations, and the trajectory of Japanese foreign policy, both in East Asia and beyond. We hope to see you there!

On Friday, February 8, we will feature Dr. Meritxell Relaño. She is currently stationed in Sana’a as the Resident Representative of UNICEF in Yemen, and she is an international advocate for human rights. She will video in over Skype to speak with us in real-time about the nature of UN work, the challenges of administering humanitarian aid in war zones, and more. This is a discussion-style event, and as such only a limited number of people may attend. If you are interested, please send an RSVP to Megan Rutkai at mrutkai1@jhu.edu. We hope to see you there!
